Believe it or not, there are so many things we can learn from our pets. My dog, Turner introduces me to new things every day. Here are just a few of the lessons he's taught me in the last 5 1/2 years we've been together.
Love unconditionally No matter what I say or do, I know Turner will always love me. If I wake up on the wrong side of the bed, come home late, or look like I've had better days, he loves me just as much as when I'm at my best. Sometimes, the act of loving feels better than being loved. Love those around you despite their shortcomings and imperfections and you'll find that you'll be loved all the more for it.
Relax Turner spends most of his days sleeping or lounging about the house. Though I wouldn't recommend doing it to the extent that he does, each and every one of us could do with some down time. It relieves stress and allows us to really enjoy life. Lay in the sun, prop yourself up on the couch, or treat yourself to a lie in. You'll feel much more invigorated and productive.
Find pleasure in the little things I don't know about you, but my dog seems most excited about the little things: tummy rubs, cuddles, the smells we encounter on our walks, playing with his daddy, having company over, licking out our dessert bowls (non-chocolate desserts of course). And I don't just mean that he enjoys it - he gets completely fired up about it! As busy and as fast-paced as life can get, we tend to neglect those little, everyday things in life. You never know how long you're going to have them around, so make the most of them today.
Spend time with family Family time is so important for Turner. He practically bounces when my husband and I walk him together. He instigates group hugs and family play time. We sit together at dinner time and watch movies together. Though he loves being with me and he loves being with my husband, his attitude changes completely when we're both with him. He gets positively giddy! Taking time to spend time with family is so important. Since we see these people day in and day out, we don't always think to take the initiative to spend uninterupted quality time with them. Organize regular family nights and vacations and watch that bond strenghten and grow.
Make someone happy When I'm down, Turner seems to instinctively know and he does whatever he can to comfort me. He's learned a number of tricks to please my husband and make him proud. And there's little else in the world that feels better than the sheer uncontrolable joy he has when we come home after having been away... even if we were only gone for five minutes! All these acts make me feel so wonderful. It's all I need to lift my spirits and put a grin on my face. Not only does it make us feel good, but it makes him feel good as well. The happiness he derives from making us happy is quite often several times more than the happiness he gives us.
What are some of the things your pet has taught you?

I purchased this scope for my husband for Christmas. He was so exstatic when he opened it. He showed me what it did and I was amazed myself. There is a cemetery next to a church that is a good distance away and I was could read the names on the headstones at half magnification. Hubby loved everything about the scope, especially that it came in a case so he didn’t worry about messing it up when carrying it around. Doing the research on the spotting scopes really made me smarter about the product and it ensured the pleasure I felt when my husband saw his Christmas gift. He said I did an outstanding job in picking out the perfect scope.
